SCU Health is an integrative academic health center on the West Coast that is committed to whole-person care. With medical services like Chiropractic Care, Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine, Ayurvedic Medicine, Physical Therapy, and more, SCU Health’s goal is to optimize health and human potential using comprehensive whole health and wellness approaches. They were on the cusp of opening a new location but knew they needed marketing support to not only drive new patients for this new location in Tustin, CA but also grow the existing location in Whittier, CA.

SCU Health asked RUNNER to develop paid advertising, local SEO, and CRM strategies to drive new patients for each location. They also wanted to leverage RUNNER’s expertise in a fractional CMO capacity in efforts such as website strategy, front desk team process optimization, and packaged service messaging.

Attracting New Patient Leads In A Highly Competitive Space

SCU Health faced significant challenges in attracting new patients amidst a highly competitive market for chiropractic and holistic medical services. Whittier, CA alone hosts over 50 chiropractic practices, creating a densely packed market where standing out is critical for success. As a medical university, SCU Health needed a steady influx of patients not only to generate revenue but also to provide real-world clinical experience for their students. RUNNER was tasked with developing and implementing a strategic marketing campaign to address these needs, leveraging geotargeted Google Ads, Facebook ads, and local SEO services to drive results.

Geotargeted Google Ads Campaigns

Recognizing the intense competition in Whittier and Tustin, RUNNER focused on creating highly targeted Google Ads campaigns for chiropractic care and acupuncture. By utilizing precise geotargeting, RUNNER ensured that the ads were shown to individuals in the vicinity of SCU Health’s locations, maximizing relevance and the likelihood of increased conversions.
The strategy proved effective, directing a substantial amount of relevant traffic to the SCU Health website and contributing to a significant rise in potential new patient inquiries. Facebook Ads Campaign for Ayurveda Medicine

In addition to Google Ads, RUNNER launched a targeted Facebook ads campaign to promote SCU Health’s Ayurveda Medicine services. Ayurveda, an ancient holistic healing system, required a different approach to attract potential patients who might not be familiar with this form of treatment. RUNNER identified that visually appealing and informative images were essential to capturing the interest of Facebook users and driving new leads for Ayurveda.

The Facebook campaign utilized compelling visuals and engaging ad copy to highlight the benefits of Ayurvedic Medicine, creating an emotional connection with the audience. This approach successfully generated a high volume of inbound leads, resulting in more booked office visits and new patients for the client.

Local SEO and Google Business Profile Optimization

To further enhance SCU Health’s online presence, RUNNER implemented a comprehensive local SEO strategy. This included optimizing SCU Health’s business listings across the web, optimizing their Google Business Profile, and regularly posting updates to keep the profile active and engaging. The local SEO efforts were designed to increase SCU Health’s visibility in local search results, making it easier for potential patients to find and choose SCU Health over competitors.

The results of the local SEO strategy were impressive. Over the course of the campaign, SCU Health experienced a 35% increase in average monthly search position, a 49% increase in average monthly clicks, and a 92% increase in average monthly clickthrough rates from search. These improvements not only drove more relevant traffic to the SCU Health website but also enhanced the overall online presence of the university, establishing it as a prominent option for chiropractic and holistic medical services in Southern California.
