We know that the holidays are stressful enough without the added pressure of living in a hyper-connected world. Now more than ever, it seems like it’s impossible to just escape and enjoy the holiday season. Just because it seems that way, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give it a shot.
This holiday season, take the time to unplug, relax and embrace a much-needed break. After all, even if you are expected to be working (or at least keeping up with things at the office) don’t count on too many others to be doing the same.
According to a recent study, 54 percent of workers mentally check out for the holidays by Dec. 16. Yep, you read that right.
Other highlights from the study include:
- 6 in 10 millennials switch off prior to Dec. 16
- 40 percent of baby boomers give it their best until Dec. 20
Moral of the story? Instead of just putting in the time, but not necessarily the effort, get out there and enjoy yourself! There’s more to each of us than the hours outside of work, so take some time off and give yourself a break.
